Available now for the 2008-2009 G8 is our 3-3/8″ Carbon Fiber shaft with CV. We have released our new carbon shafts with our “New Bond Technology”. Call for more info about this. It’s a company secret and we’re not going to tell the other driveshaft manufacturers what we now know and they don’t.
We have been working with Carbon fiber for a few months here at DSS. We actually have been waiting for our new 9500 rpm actual speed balancer to be able to not only bring the Carbon shafts into production, but also make sure they are the best balanced and manufactured shafts available. It will be a 3-3/8” carbon shaft with a special 30 spline ends (same spline as a Viper T56 output and not the standard 28 spline). This custom lightened Porsche style 930 joint is custom made with High grade aerospace grade proprietary material (modified 300m from a 475 year old mill in Sweden and about 15% stronger). We have finished destructive testing on all parts to ensure its ability to endure the punishment of this platform.
Please look at the destructive testing results below. The u-joint and flange failed at 30% beyond the rated tube specifications so we know the bond is superior. DSS tests its parts in a lab before sending them out to you.
We have recently taken delivery of a new type balancing machine that can spin shafts to the actual speed (unlike almost every other balancer spinning only at 300-3500rpm)
